FundingBritish-Arab Exchanges is a non-governmental body, registered with the Charity Commission as an educational charity. It is dependent on contributions from commercial and professional enterprises as well as from individuals concerned for the future of Britain's relations with the Middle East. British students visiting Arab countries are responsible for their own airfares. Whilst there, they are the guests of the inviting country. Arab student delegations coming to Britain are responsible for their airfares, while the Association meets the full cost of the students’ programme within Britain. This is thus the Association's main area of expenditure. Although it is reduced by contributions of hospitality and other voluntary help, considerable expenses are involved in providing accommodation, transport, meals and other requirements. Other items of expenditure include assistance to members of the National Committee to maintain contact with academic staff and members of delegations through visits to the Middle East.
